Practice Boundary Area

Our practice area covers from Port Grenaugh in the South, via St Marks and to St Johns in the west to Injebreck and Baldrine in the North. Only those with a current address within our boundary may register at Palatine Group Practice. Anyone who moves outside our boundary will be unable to remain on our list and will have to seek GP services within their new area. You can contact a GP practice in your new area directly to register or alternatively Family Practitioner Services will be happy to advise you on 642608.

Permanent Registrations

If you would like to join the patient list at Palatine Group Practice, please attend the practice reception at any time (no appointment is necessary) bringing valid (i.e. in date) photographic ID and a proof of address.  As proof of address, we will accept a recent (within 3 months) utility bill, a bank statement or similar.  We cannot accept a mobile phone bill.  Examples of photo ID would be a passport, a driving licence, or similar.  Forms will be issued on attendance and we would be grateful if these could be completed as promptly and thoroughly as possible.  Your application should then be processed within a week.

If your name has recently changed, e.g. if you have just got married, but you have not yet got your ID changed, please bring your marriage certificate with you.

More information about registering can be found on the Isle of Man Government website.

Temporary Registrations

Patients from the UK who are temporary resident (for example on holiday or working for a period less than 3 months) on the island are able to register with a GP as a temporary resident where they will receive free treatment.

Private Patients

Patients from outside the UK will be able to seek a consultation with a GP but this will be on a private basis.

The fees for this service are outlined below

Appointment: £50

Home Visit: £100

Private Prescription (must be in conjunction with appointment or home visit): £13 (please note you will also be charged for the cost of the medication at the Pharmacy)

Advice for University Students

If leaving the island to attend university in the UK you should register with a practice or university healthcare facility there.  Your medical records will automatically be transferred to your registered practice or healthcare facility.  Urgent care can be provided as a temporary resident should this be required on returning to the island during the holidays.
